Kim Jones Converse Chuck 70 Black Egret

In mid-January, Converse introduced a dozen employees featuring celebrities from fashion, music and sports. Among them, Kim Jones is expected to succeed the Nike Air Max 95 duo with a project backed by the Boston-based brand. The British designer and the North American company recently unveiled their eight-piece collection, which includes four outfits and two pairs of the iconic Chuck 70s.

While the parka, crocheted sweatshirt, cargo pants and T-shirt from Jones’ production are remarkable in their own right, the stars of the capsule are the shoes. Jones has incorporated his observations on sports and streetwear into a subtle update of the classic Converse high-top silhouette with modern, utilitarian elements. Black and aigrette – unobtrusive uppers sit on soles that are also dipped in the latter hue. However, the material is applied higher to the 12-ounce canvas and, along with the clear TPU cages and Speed Lace eyelets, provides reinforcement and stability. The sole has been redesigned with a new diamond grid to increase traction in urban landscapes. The Englishman’s name is embossed on the tongue and in clear script on the lining of the socks.

Check out images of each Chuck 70 option below, and find pairs via Converse.com on the 8th. April.

For more from NIKE, Inc. check out the Travis Scott x Air Jordan 6 British Khaki, due out October 29. April is marketed.
