With the growing awareness of the Space Hippie and Transition to Zero sustainability campaigns, Nike hopes to repeat the success of the aforementioned model with the Nike Crater Impact, which was announced in January. Finally, the eco-friendly silhouette will go on sale for Earth Day next month in a handful of floral designs, including an exclusive women’s pair with Green Glow and Sunset accents.
As with the pair released earlier this year, Summit White’s mesh upper is used for a clean look. As with the Space Hippie, nylon panels on the tongue, laces and heel provide a casual, wearable, technology-inspired aesthetic. Another similarity is the embroidered side of the swoosh, which is a contrasting black color. Pink and green geometric overlays seem to land randomly on the pattern to create a spring-like offering. While it’s clear that the model uses a Crater foam midsole, the Regrind rubber outsole is another green innovation. Recycled rubber is applied to the bottom of the foot, especially at the toes and heel, to give the user extra traction.
Like the other colorways of the Nike Crater Impact, the women’s exclusive shoe will be released on the 8th. April at retail for $110.
