Produced from 1970 to 2021, the Nike basketball brand is unmatched in iconic design and revolutionary technology. For its latest offering, the basketball manufacturer took inspiration from decades past to shape the future of its on-court models. The result? The new series More Than (G.T.).
Nike Basketball’s latest collection focuses on the types of movements different athletes make in different scenarios and features three models: Air Zoom G.T. Cut, Air Zoom G.T. Run and Air Zoom G.T. Jump. While the emphasis is on cutting and directional changes, efficiency and power savings, and protection from vertical jumps or bumps, all three silhouettes utilize the Zoom Air Strobel system already present on the KD 13 and PG 5.
All basketball players cut, run and jump at different times in the game, says Ross Klein, senior creative director for men’s sports. The difference is that, since the square is in the center of each figure, we put the player in a position where he can do one more thing than he did before.
The G.T. Series 1 family of systems provides solutions for the needs of athletes. The desire to drop into the ground or jump higher without maximum effort is incorporated into every design, allowing players like Sabrina Ionescu and De’Aaron Fox to attack space like never before. An analysis of each sneaker shows the thoughtful selection and implementation of the best Swoosh innovations. Zoom Air features already exist in other NIKE, Inc. products, but their introduction in the upcoming G.T. series brings new levels of comfort, responsiveness and feel. Nike React insoles and Pebax spring frames work in G.T. Running and G.T. Spring to provide the performance benefits you need all season long, while keeping you in the best shape possible.
Check out the upcoming collection below and see which pairs will appear on Nike.com in 2021, starting with the G.T. Cup on the 1st. April (Greater China).
