Throughout its 57-year history, NIKE, Inc. has produced groundbreaking innovations in sportswear. Gradually, their marketing and branding efforts have also attracted notable and well-deserved attention as they have changed the way the product is advertised. For the latest Nike Waffle Trainer II, the North American company returns to the original Swoosh logo.
Embossed coasters have been an integral part of the brand’s historic success. Unlike the sneakers from Nike’s early days, muted whites take up the bulk of the next variation in relief. The tongue of uncovered foam and the aforementioned tooling combined with vintage logos on the tongue and heel are reminiscent of days gone by. However, they are overshadowed by the logos on the side, reminiscent of the first iteration of the Swoosh (designed by Carolyn Davidson in 1971). The text below the iconic symbol indicates First Use on June 18, 1971 and is in direct contrast to the updated version posted on media profiles. Elsewhere, removable accessories on the tongue offer a shiny gold version of the Davidson design.
The official release date from Nike.com is unknown, but this Waffle Trainer II will likely be released before the 18th. June on the market. Anyway, enjoy the photo of the couple below.
