Even if you don’t know who Verdi is, chances are you know some of his works. As creator of Girl’s Don’t Cry and co-creator of many influential Japanese names, the graphic designer who became a champion of streetwear has quite a pedigree. And soon he will join the Nike SB family and lend them the name of one of his first prints: Lost Youth.
In keeping with the Wasted Youth philosophy, the new Nike SB Dunk Low features some punk rock inspired touches. The patchwork base is already evidence of such language, and when combined with pink patches, contrasting stitching and dark denim, the allusion is even more complete. In addition to the usual Zoom Air heel and padded tongue, the accessory package includes metal hoops and branded embroidery.
If you’re hoping to get a date, you have a special opportunity later in the day. As part of the Verdi competition, you have the chance to win a set from a special box. The draw begins at 3:00 p.m. Pacific Time (6:00 p.m. Pacific Time) and ends at 3:15 a.m. Pacific Time. The winners will be announced on Saturday 4/3. If you missed it, don’t worry, as a larger introduction will follow on the 6th. April.
(Verdi has not yet updated the link in his IG bio to the sweepstakes page. Stay tuned for updates).
